Whether you jig, troll, or cast – Esnagami Walleyes are always feeding.

With a seemingly endless variety of shoals, ledges, rock piles and drop offs, together with over 200 islands spread across its 18,000-acre expanse, Esnagami Lake has the kind of structure that Walleye thrive on, making it one of the finest Trophy Walleye fisheries in all of Northern Ontario.

The Walleye fishing remains consistent throughout our entire season, meaning that guests of Esnagami Wilderness Lodge have no difficulty getting onto fish, regardless of when they visit.

In order to maintain and enhance the quality of this already productive fishery, we introduced a Catch & Release program 25 years ago, which has resulted in a steady increase in the number of Trophy Walleye – 24″ and longer – being caught by our guests each year.

Needless to say, once you have experienced the Trophy Walleye fishing on Esnagami Lake first hand, you will understand why in Ojibwa, “Esnagami” means: “Fertile Waters of Many Fish.
